The Weinbach Group’s Julia K. Wakefield Appointed President of the Association for Women in Communications South Florida Chapter
MIAMI, FLORIDA – May 4, 2009 – The Association for Women in Communications South Florida Chapter (AWC) appointed Julia K. Wakefield to president, announced The Weinbach Group , an integrated marketing communications firm where Ms. Wakefield serves as communications specialist. Previously, Ms. Wakefield served as communications chair on the board of directors of the AWC.
“The South Florida public relations community is changing rapidly – in part because of the current economic downturn and in part because of the advent of new communications modalities,” commented Daniel Weinbach, chief operating officer and executive vice president of The Weinbach Group. “Julia has the sophistication and skill to apply these changes rapidly to the benefit of our clients. Now, she’ll share that wisdom and insight with a broader audience in her new role as the ‘top dog’ of the Association for Women In Communications.”

Originally from Palm Beach Gardens, Fla., Ms. Wakefield earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in philosophy from Davidson College in Davidson, North Carolina. She resides in Miami.
